SRINAGAR: The sealed medical centre of Hakeem Ghulam Qadir Reshi in the Saidpora Harwan area on the outskirts of Srinagar is set to reopen soon, Hazratbal MLA Salman Sagar said on Tuesday.
The announcement was made during Sagar’s visit to Hakeem Reshi’s residence, where he met with Reshi and his followers, pledging full support and genuine assistance.
The medical centre was earlier sealed by authorities to curb quackery, raising concerns about public health and the authenticity of treatments provided. Speaking to the media, Salman Sagar highlighted the importance of safeguarding public health and issued a strong warning against the distribution of fake medicines, stating that such practices would not be tolerated.
However, the MLA also emphasised that baseless complaints against medical practitioners would not be entertained and urged the public to help differentiate genuine practices from quackery.
The reopening of the medical centre is expected to bring relief to Hakeem Reshi’s followers, who expressed their gratitude for the MLA’s intervention. Authorities are expected to ensure that the centre complies with all health and safety regulations before resuming operations. [KNT]
