The J&K High Court Tuesday directed the civil and police administration to monitor the constructions at Gulmarg in Baramulla district, reports said.

Reports said that a division bench comprising Justice Muzaffar Hussain Attar and Justice BS Walia directed the Deputy Commissioner, Baramulla, and the Senior Superintendent of Police, Baramulla, to visit Gulmarg within three days and seal the illegal constructions.

“You visit Gulmarg and ensure no illegal construction is carried out there. And if someone has come up with an illegal construction then that should be immediately sealed,” the court said. The court has asked the officials to come up with the latest status report about their visit and on any illegal construction in the third week of December.”

The court has issued a series of directions to the government to take action against illegal constructions in Gulmarg since 2012 when a PIL was filed by Rafiq Zargar.
