Jammu and Kashmir High Court Tuesday issued notice to the state government and former Health Minister Sham Lal Sharma on a PIL filed by a doctors’ body seeking probe into the supply of alleged spurious drugs to government hospitals in Kashmir.

A Division Bench of Justices Mansoor Ahmad Mir and Ali Mohammad Magray issued the notice and also directed the Inspector General of Police (Crime Branch) to submit a status report on the investigations conducted into the supply of alleged spurious drugs to government hospitals.

The court has listed the case for next hearing tomorrow.

Doctors Association of Kashmir (DAK) had filed a PIL in the High Court seeking an independent probe into alleged fake drug scam and action against those involved in facilitating the supply of substandard medicines.
