SRINAGAR

Nine member team of Jammu and Kashmir High Court Bar Association (JKHCBA) Srinagar Sunday visited various jails of Jammu province including Rajouri and Poonch .

The statement issued to KNS mentioned that the team interacted with the inmates of Rajouri, Poonch, Kathua, Hira Nagar Amphalla, Kotebalwal and Udhampur.

According to the issued handout , the team is going to publish the report of jails conditions and the difficulties faced by the inmates of the jail.

Pertinently, the Division Bench of J&K High Court had earlier this month permitted the Jammu and Kashmir High Court Bar Association to inspect various jails across the state in order to see the living conditions of the jail inmates. A Public Interest Litigation (PIL) seeking implementation of the jail manual is at disposal before the court at Srinagar bench.
