SRINAGAR

Reacting to the recent statement of Ghulam Nabi Azad, union health minister wherein he had expressed displeasure over the slow pace of the developmental works, senior National Conference (NC) leader and minister Ali Mohammad Sagar today claimed the  state government is working with ‘zeal’ and ‘zest’ to complete the developmental works in the stipulated time.

Azad had recently during his visit to Chinab region expressed concern over the pace of the developmental works in the region and had said that the all the works he had started during his tenure as state’s chief minister are stand still or going on at the ‘snail’s pace’.

Meanwhile ,  President Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Prof. Saif-ud-din Soz while commenting over Azad’s recent statement said that Azad was keen towards taking state to the new horizons of development and that his tenure created remarkable ‘milestones’ in the field.

Talking to Kashmir News Service (KNS), Soz stated that the  observations of state’s former chief minister cannot be underminedand that  Azad’s statement must be based on facts. “Azad sahib was the chief minister of the state and was very keen towards development and whatever his observations are about the state’s present status, must be based on facts.”

The senior NC leader Ali Mohammad Sagar while talking to KNS said that the state has already issued  strict orders to the concerned authorities to complete the developmental works in the fixed time frame and that the developmental works are going on in good pace. “Work at Dastegeer sahib at Khaniyar is going on round the clock; at other places also the state government works in double and triple shifts to complete the developmental projects.”

Sagar, however mentioned that there could be some areas where developmental activities are going on  with the slow pace and that the matter is being looked into. “There are some places where you would find the slow pace but rest of the districts have no complains. We have issued the orders so that the projected could be completed within the given time frame.”
