SRINAGAR: BJP leader Sunil Sharma on Saturday claimed that the Omar Abdullah-led government in Jammu and Kashmir would not complete its five-year term, alleging that the National Conference was facing internal divisions and growing resentment.
Speaking in Reasi district, Sharma described the National Conference as a “broken party” and claimed that it was divided internally.
“The party is split inside; it will not remain long. The government will not last for long,” he said.
Sharma also accused the National Conference-led government of failing to adequately address issues related to employment, development, infrastructure and governance.
His remarks were made in the context of the political situation in Jammu and Kashmir, where the National Conference emerged as the largest party in the 2024 Assembly elections.
The Omar Abdullah-led government took office in October 2024 after the Assembly elections. The National Conference won 42 of the 90 Assembly seats, while the Congress secured six seats.
