SRINAGAR: A 56-year-old headmaster was killed in a road accident in the Handwara area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Wednesday night, officials said.
Officials said the accident occurred at Younsu, Handwara, where a pedestrian, identified as Fayaz Ahmad Lone, a resident of Wahipora, was hit by a vehicle.
They said the 56-year-old, who was serving as a headmaster, sustained critical injuries in the accident and died on the spot.
Police have taken cognisance of the incident, while further details are awaited. (GNS)
