Crime Branch Kashmir, ANTF Destroy Seized Narcotics in Pulwama

   

SRINAGAR: The Economic Offences Wing (EOW), Kashmir Crime Branch, in collaboration with the Anti Narcotics Task Force (ANTF), Kashmir, on Thursday destroyed seized narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances at the incinerator facility at IGC Lassipora in Pulwama, in compliance with court directions.

According to officials, the destroyed contraband comprised charas, ganja and psychotropic tablets, which had been seized by the ANTF during various anti-narcotics operations across Kashmir.

The disposal was carried out through a scientific and environmentally compliant incineration process under the supervision of the Drug Disposal Committee, in accordance with the orders of the competent court.

The destruction process was chaired by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Economic Offences Wing Kashmir and Chairman of the Drug Disposal Committee, Abdul Waheed Shah. Among those present were Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) ANTF Kubra Nazir, Senior Prosecuting Officer (Sr PO) EOW Kashmir Abdul Bari, and other concerned officers, who ensured that the disposal was conducted in strict adherence to the prescribed legal procedures and court directions.

Officials said the exercise forms part of sustained efforts to ensure the lawful disposal of seized narcotics and prevent their re-entry into circulation.

They added that the initiative also reinforces the Government’s commitment to the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, aimed at curbing drug abuse and dismantling the narcotics ecosystem through coordinated enforcement and legal action.
