J&K Bank CSR Initiative in Jammu

In yet another major CSR initiative, J&K Bank Friday presented four Eco-Ambulances, Two Portable X-Ray Devices, Fifty 3-seater benches and Rs 5 lakh for poor patients to Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu & Associated Hospitals. One similar ambulance was handed over to the Jammu University.

Chairman and CEO Mushtaq Ahmad today handed over the keys of the four emergency-vehicles to Principal, GMC Jammu Dr Z H Gillani and one key to the Registrar, Jammu University Keshav Sharma at the bank’s Zonal Office Jammu. Medical Superintendent, MCH Dr Rabinder Rattan Pal, Medical Superintendent, SSB Dr Romesh Gupta, bank’s Executive Presidents Vagish Chander, Abdul Rauf Bhat, Vice-Presidents Arvind Gupta, Nishi Baru, Raman Kumar Kaushal and other officers of the respective institutions were present on the occasion, a company statement said this evening.

Speaking on the occasion, Mushtaq Ahmad said, “Health is wealth. This maxim stands true equally for an individual, society and a nation. And being wealth managers of the people, we understand the significance of our hospitals for the health of our people in J&K.”

“Today I feel contented to dedicate these needful amenities for the convenience and comfort of people in this region. In future also our CSR programme shall continue to focus on health and education, which remain critical for the real growth and development of every society,” he added.

Meanwhile, for emergency needs of the students on campus the bank provided Jammu University with an Eco-Ambulance along with 100 dumping dustbins for the campus cleanliness. Registrar Jammu University Keshav Sharma received the key from the bank’s Chairman on the occasion.

The bank also announced few important CSR measures for the promotion of education in Jammu.

The bank shall provide department-wise scholarship to meritorious students, from weaker economic backgrounds, for all the 36 courses taught at Jammu University. For best performing students of university, the bank shall provide a revolving fund of Rs 5 lacs for distribution in the form of awards, prizes etc.
