The army spokesperson Friday afternoon claimed that a hideout was busted in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

“Based on a specific input from a unit source a search operation of Rashtriya Rifle unit and TA Battalion  was launched in  the early hours today in general area Halmatpura North of Kupwara which resulted in recovery of a huge cache of arms, ammunition and war like stores,” a statement issued by army spokesperson said.

“Acting on a specific input of a hideout with large quantity of war like stores, Territorial Army and Rashtriya Rifle unit based at Kupwara immediately launched a search operation early morning today.  The search parties carried out concerted search of the area. At around 11:05 AM a hideout was unveiled resulting in recovery of one AK 47 Rifle with 4 Magazines, 523 Rounds of AK 47, one UBGL with 8 Grenades, one AK 47 Silencer, one RPG, 3 RPG Bombs, 8 RPG Boosters, 312 Rounds of 7.62 Pikka Machine Gun, 2 RDX, 7 Detonators, 4 Chinese Grenades, 3 Pistols with 5 Magazines, one  Binocular and  2 Radio sets,” the statement said.
