Strongly condemning the use of brutal force on Kashmir University students and suspending class work in the varsity, National Front chairperson Nayeem Ahmad Khan Friday said that the highest educational institution of Kashmir has been facing at the hands of successive “so called rulers”, who on the behest of New Delhi, never allowed student activism resulting in “suppression among them”.

“The police action against the students as hooliganism on part of the men in uniform,” he said.

Expressing concern over the arrest of Muzamil Farooq, Khan demanded his immediate release.

“University administration is duty bound to use its influence for the immediate release of Muzamil Farooq,” he said.

“The so called rulers are playing with the career of students and it has become a norm to use police against those who have a different political thought,” he alleged.

“Silencing the political opponents has become an order in Kashmir and to manufacture cases against pro-freedom youth is not new in this part of the world.”
