SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Sunday claimed to have busted a hideout and arrested one militant associate of Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) in Chandhara in the village of Pampore in south Kashmir’s Awantipora.

A police spokesman in a statement said, “based on credible input regarding presence of militants of proscribed outfit LeT in a hideout constructed in a particular house in village Chandhara Pampore, Awantipora Police along with 50 RR and 110 Bn CRPF launched a search operation today early morning. During search one large hideout of LeT outfit was found in the cowshed and was destroyed subsequently.”

“One militant associate identified as Adil Ahmad Shah resident of Chandhara Pampore of proscribed militant outfit LeT was also arrested,” said the spokesman.

“Incriminating material and cache of ammunition including 26 round of AK-47 were recovered from the busted hideout,” he said.

“Case FIR No. 04/2021 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Pampore,” said a police spokesman in a statement.
