SRINAGAR: The High Court of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh on Sunday conducted the written examination for recruitment to the posts of Junior Assistant at multiple centres across the Union Territory through an outsourced agency.
However, the recruitment process witnessed a disruption at one examination centre in Jammu after examination material fell short, preventing 67 candidates from taking the test.
According to an official statement, the incident occurred at the Jammu Institute of Ayurveda and Research, Nardani, Kot Bhalwal, where the supplied examination material was insufficient. As a result, 67 candidates were not provided OMR answer sheets and question booklets and could not appear in the examination.
The matter was immediately brought to the notice of the High Court by the Registrar (Recruitment). Taking cognisance of the lapse, the Court ordered that a fresh examination be conducted exclusively for the affected candidates.
The re-examination will be held within two weeks, while the date, time and venue will be notified separately within the next two days, the statement said.
The High Court has also ordered an inquiry into the incident to determine the reasons behind the shortage of examination material, identify lapses at all levels, fix responsibility and recommend measures to prevent such incidents in future.
Reaffirming its commitment to a fair and transparent recruitment process, the High Court assured that the affected candidates would not suffer any prejudice because of the incident.
