High Court Issues Contempt Notice Against Govt In Vehcile Re-Regsitration Case

   

SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir High Court has issued contempt notice to the Commissioner Secretary Transport Department  Hridesh Kumar in connection with the vehicle re-registration case in which the government had recently asked the non-J&K vehicles to get registered in contrast to the court’s earlier order.

While hearing a contempt petition no CCP(D) 16/2021 titled Zahoor Ahmad Bhat versus Hridesh Kumar & others in vehicle re-registration judgement, the Division Bench issued notice which was accepted by the advocate general on behalf of the government.

The next date of hearing is July 12. Earlier the Division Bench had quashed the circular issued by Regional Transport Officer Kashmir mandating compulsory re-registration of vehicles bearing non-J&K registration numbers.
