State High Court on Monday quashed the detention of three prisoners who are languishing in different jails under Public Safety Act (PSA). These include a prisoner who is languishing in jail under 11th consecutive PSA and who’s all the six family members including his 100 years old father were allegedly arrested last week.

Legal cell sources of Hurriyat Conference (G) told Kashmir Life that Justice Mohammad Yaqoob Mir quashed the detention orders of Peer Mohammad Ashraf son of Peer Ghulam Nabi, a resident of Bategund, Dooru, Islamabad, Farooq Ahmad Shah son of Mohammad Ashraf Shah, resident of Baghat Shoor Srinagar and Sajad Ahmad Nayoo son of Mohammad Sultan Nayoo, resident of Bandipora.

They added that Ashraf is presently detained in Kuthua, Sajad in district Jail Udhampur and Farooq in district Jail Baramulla.

Completely agreeing the arguments of Kashmir High Court Bar Associatios (KHBA) President, Advocate Mian Abdul Qayoom, council of the said prisoners, the high court ordered immediate release of them.
