High-Level Security Review Held Ahead of Amarnath Yatra

   

SRINAGAR: Director General of Police (DGP) Jammu and Kashmir, Nalin Prabhat, on Monday directed field officers to intensify efforts to dismantle the terror ecosystem and ensure comprehensive security arrangements for Eid-ul-Adha, the Amarnath Yatra, and other upcoming events.

Chairing a joint meeting of Police and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) at the Police Control Room in Srinagar, DGP Prabhat, stressed the need for strict implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and proactive risk mitigation strategies to ensure the safety of Amarnath pilgrims.

“Intensify efforts to dismantle the terror ecosystem. Ensure robust security arrangements for the upcoming events,” the DGP directed.

He also instructed officers to strengthen security measures along the yatra routes. “Deploy anti-sabotage teams. Enhance surveillance and threat detection capabilities using advanced technologies and real-time monitoring systems,” he said.

The meeting was attended by senior officers, including Special DGP Coordination S.J.M. Gillani, ADGP Armed Anand Jain, IGP Kashmir, IGP POS PHQ J&K, IG CRPF Srinagar, IG CRPF KOS, IG BSF, all range DIGs of Kashmir Zone, DIG Personnel, DIG Traffic Kashmir, DIG IR Kashmir, DIG AP Kashmir, DIG SSB, DIG ITBP, all district SSPs of Kashmir Zone, and other officials.

The participating officers, briefed the DGP on the proposed security arrangements for Amarnath Yatra 2025 and Eid-ul-Adha, underlining the importance of coordination among the various forces involved.

The meeting concluded with a joint resolve to maintain high levels of preparedness and coordination to ensure the smooth and secure conduct of all upcoming events. (KNO)
