Pakistan's PM Sharif speaks during news conference with Thailand counterpart Yingluck in Islamabad

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday stated  that Kashmir issue is the main pillar of Pakistan’s foreign policy and Pakistan envoys abroad must highlight the sufferings of the people of “occupied territory”, Express Tribune reported.

Speaking at the concluding session of the three-day conference of Pakistani envoys in Islamabad, the prime minister stated that desire of “freedom” is running in the blood of Kashmiris. He urged the envoys to convey a message to the world that Kashmir issue is not the internal matter of India, the report added.

Pak premier said the peaceful solution to outstanding disputes is imperative for durable peace and prosperity in the region.

He said Pakistan desires peace but this should not be misconstrued as our weakness. He said Pakistan believes in the policy of non-interference and respect of sovereignty.

Adviser to the PM on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz said Pakistan has achieved monumental achievements in the foreign policy in the past three years.

The envoys attending the conference were Ambassador Jalil Abbas Jilani (Washington), Ambassador Maleeha Lodhi (United Nations — New York), High Commissioner Abdul Basit (New Delhi), Ambassador Masood Khalid (Beijing), Ambassador Qazi Khalilullah (Moscow), Ambassador Tehmina Janjua (United Nations — Geneva and Conference on Disarmament), Ambassador Nagmana Hashmi (Brussels and EU), Ambassador Ayesha Riyaz (Vienna and IAEA) and Ambassador Abrar Hussain (Kabul).
