They said we are studying at Delhi University as we received the message regarding the JKKVI examinations we left for Srinagar immediately to take part in it but unfortunately we stuck on Jammu-Srinagar highway from last three days now we don’t have any source with air service but air tickets are very expensive which we cannot afford.

“Authorities should consider the situation of the highway, how are we supposed to appear in the exams when the Highway is closed. So we request them to postpone the exams”, Ashiq Husain Lone, a candidate said.

“Exams can be rescheduled once the highway is cleared and thrown open for traffic “, he added.

Meanwhile, the candidates who had applied for various posts of  Jammu and Kashmir service selection board(JKSSRB) were not able to appear in the examinations due to the closure of the road. The candidates now appeal the authorities to kindly reschedule the exam, to give them a chance to appear in the examination at a later date.

“I had applied for the post of laboratory assistant but I was left stranded on Srinagar – Jammu Highway for two days. So we urge Jammu and Kashmir Service selection board (JKSSB) to give us another chance to appear in the examination “, a candidate said.

Inspite of many attempts, authorities could not be contacted for comments.
