 In its concerted effort to improve patient care Director SKIMS /Ex-officio Secretary to the government, Dr Omar Javed Shah on Thursday opens thirty rooms for patients on nominal charges.

The spokesman said Director SKIMS thanked the government for providing this facility for poor and needy patients. The new Sarai has a capacity of thirty rooms and other required facilities which will provide relief to the patients from far-flung and difficult areas who face a lot of inconvenience due to non-availability of accommodation. The patients will be charged rupees 100 per day and can avail accommodation for minimum 10-15 days.

He directed all concerned to ensure proper utilization of space and maintain proper hygiene and cleanliness to make poor patients comfortable. He also made an appeal to civil society and other big business houses to come forward to support through their donations and contributions.

The function was attended by senior faculty members and other officials of departments such hospital engineering, hospital administration estates, landscape etc.
