The Minister of State for Transport, Revenue, Public Works (R&B), Rural Development & Panchayati Raj, Agriculture Production and YSS, Sunil Sharma on behalf of Minister for Social Welfare today said that the government is examining the proposal regarding enhancement of remuneration of Anganwari workers and helpers by Rs 500 per month.

The Minister also said that out of 159 migrants, AWWs honorarium stands released for payment to 130 migrant AWWS who are not availing any kind of relief as verified by Relief Commissioner Migrants. He said that the honorarium for remaining migrant AWWs shall be released as soon as verified by Relief Commissioner Migrants.

He also said that promotion of the supervisors to the next level -assistant child development project officers is being made from time to time depending upon the availability of number of posts.

The proposal for re-engagement of helpers to supervisors is under consideration, he further said.

The Minister informed that regarding clearance of pending cases under NSAP, ISSS, and other social security schemes has been taken with concerned quarters. Giving details of the pending cases, the Minister said that under NSAP, 85616 cases are pending under IGNOAPS, 5462 under IGNWPS, 3249 under IGNOPS, and under ISSS, 60722 cases for old age, 28042 cases for widows and 30583 cases for disabled are pending. In addition, 11921 cases are pending under NFBS in the State.

Regarding the criteria of identification of location for opening of new Anganwadi centers, the Minister informed that for rural/urban project,  for population  between 400-800, one AWC can be established, for 801-1600 two AWCs and for 1601-2400, 3 AWCs can be established, thereafter in multiples of 800, 1 AWC per section. For mini AWC, population should be ranged between 150 to 400 to create one AWC and for creation of one Mini AWC in tribal/Riverine/desert/hilly areas population should be from 300 to 801.

He also said that 167039 students have availed benefit of pre-metric scholarship to minorities during 2015-16, 18493 under post metric and 5830 under merit-cum means.
