The Minister of State for Transport, Revenue, Public Works (R&B), Rural Development & Panchayati Raj, Agriculture Production and YSS, Sunil Sharma today said that 105 kanals and 19 marlas of land has been acquired after following a proper procedure for construction of a stadium at Galizoo in district Kupwara.
He also said that Rs 2.12 crore has been paid as compensation to the land owners.
In addition, exchange of land measuring 14 kanals and 11 marlas has been authorized in order to provide approach road and entry to the proposed stadium. The administrative approval to the exchange of land has been conveyed on the basis of requisition/recommendation of field agencies, he said.
He also said that matter was discussed in the district development board meeting held on May 24, 2016 in presence of local public representatives.
The Minister was speaking in reply to question raised by MLA Bashir Ahmed Dar.
