SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir police on Tuesday claimed to have busted a militant module in Pakherpora area of Central Kashmiri’s Budgam district.

A police spokesman in a statement said, “Based on a credible input, Budgam police along with 53RR and 181BN CRPF have arrested 03 militant associates from Pakherpora area at a checkpoint.”

He said, “they have been identified as Mehraj ud din Kumar, Tahir Kumar both residents of Pakherpora and Sahil Hurra resident of Tilsarah.”

“Incriminating materials, arms and ammunition including 20 live rounds of AK-47, 02 detonators and 15 posters of HM have been recovered from their possession. All the recovered materials have been taken into case records for further investigation and to probe their role and complicity in other terror crimes,” said the spokesman.

“As per the police records, they were involved in providing logistic support and shelter to the active militants of proscribed outfit HM operating in the area. They were active in the area for last few months,” he said.

“Case FIR No. 83/2020 under relevant sections of law stands registered in Police Station Charar-e-Sharief and further investigation into the case has been initiated,” said a police spokesman in a statement.
