Militant outfit Hizb-ul-Mujahideen has paid tributes to slain militants and two civilians killed during a gun battle with government forces in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Sunday morning.

Operational spokesperson Burhanuddin told local news agency CNS over phone that four local Hizb militants put up a brave show during the night long gun battle. “Our militants resisted the Indian might and killed many army men.

“Several Indian soldiers were killed while many of them suffered disabilities. Security establishments hide the truth to stop demoralizing their men,” he said.

Four militants, two soldiers and two civilians died in the gunfight in Frisal village of Kulgam district on Sunday, triggering protests and clashes.

Fifteen persons were injured after forces resorted to firing and shelling to break up protests near the encounter site.

Hizb Operational spokesperson added that attacks on “Indian Security Bases will continue till the freedom movement is not taken to its logical conclusion.”

“The youth are sacrificing their lives for a sacred Cause and we will never compromise with their holy blood,” he added.
