SRINAGAR: In a harrowing incident a mother’s quick thinking saved her two children when a leopard unexpectedly entered their home on Saturday morning. The incident was reported from Kilhotran village in the Doda district, where no such thing has happened ever.
According to reports, the alarming incident unfolded as the mother and her children were inside their house, and the leopard breached the premises. Reacting swiftly, the mother managed to evacuate her children to safety, averting a potentially tragic outcome.
News of the leopard’s intrusion rapidly spread throughout the area, drawing hundreds of spectators from neighboring villages to witness the unfolding rescue operation.
Prompt response teams, comprising wildlife officials from Kishtwar and personnel from the Jammu and Kashmir police, initiated a challenging rescue operation to capture the elusive leopard. The task proved arduous as the agile animal evaded capture attempts, leaping from one room to another within the house.
Complicating matters further, the large crowd of onlookers amassed near the affected house presented additional hurdles for the rescue teams. Regrettably, the operation resulted in some damage to the property.
However, after a concerted effort throughout the day, wildlife officials successfully tranquilized the leopard in the evening and safely removed it from the premises, alleviating the immediate threat to the community.
