SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir is likely to witness generally hot and humid conditions over the coming days, with brief spells of rain and thundershowers expected at scattered places, the Meteorological Centre said.
The weather activity is forecast to increase slightly between August 29 and 31, when light to moderate rain and thundershowers may occur at scattered to many places, according to the latest forecast.
The MeT also warned that brief spells of intense rainfall could occur during the early morning and afternoon hours in some areas.
Hot and humid weather is expected to persist from September 1 to 2, with isolated spells of rain or thundershowers likely at scattered locations.
Similar conditions are forecast between September 3 and 5, although rainfall activity during this period is expected to remain largely confined to isolated places.
The weather office cautioned that intense showers over localised areas could trigger flash floods, mudslides and landslides, particularly in vulnerable locations, and advised people to remain cautious in areas susceptible to such hazards.
