President J&K Pradesh Congress Committee, Saifuddin Soz today met Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde and Defence Minister A K Antony at New Delhi today.

“Among the issues discussed with  the Home Minister,  the political situation obtaining in J&K State also came up for discussion. I also explained to  Shinde my Perception  of timing for holding Elections to BDCs and District Development and Planning Boards in the Panchayat System of the State  and Elections to the Local Bodies,” Prof Soz said while talking to a local news agency, KNS from New Delhi.

He said the Home Minister assured him (Soz) of complete cooperation and attention towards establishment of peace in the state. “For peace in Jammu and Kashmir and rule of law will be followed and law and order will not be allowed to go out of hand,” Shinde has assured Soz.

Earlier, the state Congress Chief gave his assessment of the situation in J&K State to the Defence Minister A K Antony. “Antony reiterated his position that the message is loud and clear for all concerned that no human rights violation would be tolerated and whosoever crosses the limit of law would have to be brought to justice,” Soz said.

He has assured the state Congress Chief that human rights violations won’t be tolerated and nobody will be shielded.

“They said they are for peace in Jammu and Kashmir and rule of law will be followed for establishment of peace,” Soz added.
