A blood donation and free medical camp, which was part of the Hafta-e-Shahadat (Martyrs Week) programme organised by Jammu Kashmir Awami Action Committee was held in the compound of Aali Masjid Eidgah at Srinagar on Thursday to pay tributes to top religious and political leader of Kashmir, Mirwaiz Muhammad Farooq, Khawaja Abdul Gani Lone, Martyrs of Hawal and other martyrs of Kashmir.
More than 90 points of blood were donated on the occasion, a Hurriyat Conference (m) spokesperson said.
People coming in large numbers from various parts of the Valley including veiled women and particularly youth donated their blood as a mark of expression to pay tributes to Mirwaiz Moulvi Muhammad Farooq and all the martyrs of Jammu Kashmir.
All Parties Hurriyat Conference (m) Chairperson, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq inaugurated the blood donation and medical camp and welcomed the people, particularly the youth, attending the camp and lauded them for their service to humanity.
The APHC-m constituents particularly Jammu Kashmir Awami Action Committee leaders and workers besides youth coming in large numbers donated their blood on the occasion.
On the occasion, the freed medical camp Prominent doctors of Kashmir Head of the Departments of various hospitals including Dr Gul Javed, Dr Nadeem, Dr Peerzada Rafi Ahmad, Dr Mushtaq Ahmad, Dr Suhail, (Ortho) Dr Samina Gul, Dr Tajamul Hussain, Dr Nazir Ahmad, Dr Mushtaq, Dr Anjali and a number of Unani doctors including the Haya Unani Hospital founder chairperson, Dr Feroz Naqshbandi and his entire team also rendered their services by treating the patients at the medical camp.
A large number of doctors and nursing staff of SKIMS, SMHS, JLNM Hospital, Rainawari Bone and Joint Hospital, GB Pant Hospital and Gousia Hospital Khanyar attended to patients suffering from different ailments while the organisers distributed free medicines among the needy patients.
