Hurriyat (g) Monday called for protest after Friday prayers and a complete shutdown on Saturday 27th February against the charges of sedition and detention on Delhi university professor, SAR Geelani.
Talking to Kashmir Life, Hurriyat (g) spokesperson said that the conglomerate has called for the shutdown against the “illegal” detention of Prof SAR Geelani and the harassment of Kashmiri students after the JNU episode.
Pertinently, Hurriyat (g) chairperson, Syed Ali Geelani had threatened of a public agitation in case Prof SAR Geelani was not released and the harassment of Kashmiri students was not stopped.
Meanwhile, south Kashmir’s Tral Monday observed shutdown “in solidarity with militants” engaged in an encounter with forces at EDI Sempora.
