Hurriyat Conference (G) General Secretary in a press release condemned the fresh spree of violence by government forces in the nook and corner of the state on the eve of Eidul Azha preparations.

The Hurriyat leader terming the use of brute force against the civil population as the worst form of vengeance and said that the Hurriyat on receiving pathetic and woeful narratives from Kulgam, Shopian, Pulwama, Bandipora, Handwara, and Baramulla, expressed its serious concern about the victimization of the common people by the local army camps and special operation group (SOG) of police.

The spokesman said that “bulldozing the residential houses, damaging their basic necessary belongings, beating the people ruthlessly and forcing them to stay at roads and lanes for the whole nights is a sheer violation of human rights and desecration of the human values.”

Meanwhile, the spokesman added that Hurriyat Conference chairman, Syed Ali Geelani was taken to SKIMS for a medical checkup, where doctors for cardiology, gastroenterology, and nephrology thoroughly examined the ailing leader. He was advised of some investigation. His pacemaker was also checked in detail and was found functioning satisfactorily. Doctors advised some medicine after which he is feeling better.
