Dozens of activists of Hurriyat Conference led by octogenarian, Syed Ali Geelani organized a sit in Monday, in the press enclave to press for their demand of releasing all the prisoners before Eid-ul-Zaha.

The Hurriyat activists reached press enclave and observed a peaceful sit in for fifteen minutes.

Talking about the purpose of the sit in Hurriyat (G) general secretary, Ghulam Nabi Sumji said, “This is our symbolic protest to press for our demand that all the prisoners should be released before Eid-ul-Azha”.

Holding placards, the Hurriyat activists raised slogans demanding immediate release of Masrat Aalam Bhat, Mir Hafiz-ullah, Mushtaq-ul-Islam, Shakeel Ahmad Bhat and others.

They were also raising slogans favouring release of their chairman, Syed Ali Geelani from continuous house arrest.

This was after a long, when Hurriyat (G) activists were allowed to register their protest and police did not arrest them.

The activists after fifteen minutes dispersed peacefully.
