Reacting on the statement of National Conference MP, Ghulam Nabi Ratanpuri, Hurriyat Conference (G) has made it clear that elections cannot resolve Kashmir issue.
In a statement Hurriyat (G) spokesperson Ayaz Akbar said that people from different schools of thought during their meeting with Geelani exchange their view point and the exhibition of courtesy does not mean that he (Geelani) in any way approves or supports their role or viewpoint.
“Ratanpuri visited residence of Geelani without any prior information and in a formal interaction discussed for half an hour,” he said adding Geelani is pro-freedom leader of international stature and his approach and stand with respect to Kashmir resolution is clear.
“Though the armed resistant forces are striving against the occupant forces yet the strategy adopted by Hurriyat Conference is political and quite different from militant organizations,” he said.
Reiterating its stand with respect to innocent killings, the spokesperson added that they have always condemned the innocent killings “and it is the malicious role played by pro Indian parties that always patronized and legitimized the forces.”
