While reacting over the continuous restrictions imposed by the authorities, Chairman Hurriyat conference (G) Syed Ali Geelani has said, “Fascist and tyrant approach won’t deter us from righteous path. They cannot break our resolve for freedom and will continue our struggle despite all impediments and hurdles.”

The senior separatist leader held a press conference Saturday and had planned to conduct a seminar at his residence on Sunday but the authorities imposed restrictions and foiled the programme.

As per a statement Geelani has said, “We had invited intellectuals and experts to address a seminar but authorities didn’t allow us and prevented the invitees. There was no law and order issue involved or apprehensions but the authorities without any reason and logic stopped us from organising the seminar. They even prevented the regular staff members from their duties.”

While calling it the ‘frustration’ of authorities Geelani has called the lull as ‘forced silence’. “We have not and will not take these barbaric acts of Indian state lightly and will continue our protest till we achieve freedom from Indian occupation.”

Geelani while calling it ‘state hooliganism’ has sought an answer from Omer Abdullah and police chief that “why Geelani is not being allowed to meet people and under what provisions he is being detained in his house since 2010.”
