Two persons including a baby died and two others were injured in different road accidents in South Kashmir, police said on Sunday.

A Tipper bearing registration number JK01M/0047, driven by Mudasir Ahmad was on way from Srinagar to Pulwama but the driver lost control over the tipper and fell down in river Jehlum at Pandrethan, Panthachowk, resulting in the death of the driver. Mudair son of Abdul Majid was a resident of Samboora, Pulwama.

The body was fished out and handed over to his relatives for last rites. A case has been registered in this regard.

In another accident an unidentified vehicle hit a Santro Car bearing registration number JK01L/5773 driven by Shamim Ahmad Dar son of Ghulam Mohammad resident of Naik Bagh Nowgam, Srinagar near petrol pump Sangam, Islamabad, resulting in injuries to three persons including driver of Santro Shamim Ahmad Dar, Mst. Tahira Begum wife of Shamim Ahmad, and 03 years old Zahira Shamim daughter of Shamim Ahmad residents of Naik Bagh, Nowgam, Srinagar. All the injured were shifted to SKIMS, Srinagar where baby Zahira Shamim succumbed to her injuries. A case has been registered in this regard.
