Baramulla police arrested a LeT militant involved in the killing of a sarpanch in Palhallan and recovered a pistol from his possession, police said on Sunday.
Police spokesperson further said that Pattan police received information regarding the movement of a local trained militant of Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) Muzaffar Ahmad Lone son of Abdul Rahim resident of Raipora, Palhalan. Muzaffar was involved in case FIR number 207/2012, under section 302 RPC, 7/25 I.A Act of police station Pattan for the killing of Sarpanch of village Palhalan. He was a close associate of Hilal Molvi of LeT militant in Kongamdara Magam area.
On this information Pattan police along with 45 Bn. CRPF and 29 RR, arrested the LeT militant at a Naka. One pistol, one pistol magazine and three pistol rounds were recovered from his possession.
