Pakistan has invited Hurriyat leaders to attend the ‘Pakistan Day’ function on March 23 in New Delhi, which will be observed at Pakistan embassy in New Delhi.
The invitation has been sent to both the factions of Hurriyat Conference, civil society members and some journalists.
Confirming the invitation, Hurriyat Conference (g) spokesperson Ayaz Akbar told KNS that the Pakistan High Commissioner has formally invited Chairperson Hurriyat Conference (g) Syed Ali Geelani; Secretary General TeH Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai; Hurriyat Conference (g) Secretary General Shabir Shah; provincial president Aga Syed Hassan, provincial president Nayeem Khan, himself and other senior leaders.
Hurriyat Conference (m) Conference Media advisor Shahid ul Islam confirmed that the Pakistan High Commissioner has invited Hurriyat (m) chairperson Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and 34 other senior leaders including executive body members Prof Abdul Gani Bhat, Bilal Gani Lone, Moulana Abass Ansari, Advocate Shahid Islam, Hilal War, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza, advocate Abdul Majeed Banday, Musadiq Adil, Javaid Mir, Mushtaq Sofi and other senior leaders.
“We are going to attend the Pakistan Day function and our delegations will be headed by Chairman Dr Mirwaiz Umar Farooq,” Islam said.
Besides Hurriyat leaders, Editor-in-Chief of Urdu daily Asian Mail, Rasheed Rahil has also been invited.
