Terming the arrest of senior Hurriyat (M) leader Mukhtar Ahmad Waza at Sherbagh Islamabad Police station, imprisoning of Zaffar Akbar Bhat in district Jail Kupwara, incarceration of separatist leaders Yasin Malik, Shabir Shah, Nayeem Khan in different jails across valley, and continuous house arrest of Syed Ali Geelani as political vendetta, a spokesman of the conglomerate Monday alleged that crackdown on separatist leadership depicts the frustration of state government.

In a statement he said, “Such dictatorial acts against the pro freedom leadership by the state were totally undemocratic and violated the basic moral code.”

Meanwhile, on the instruction of Hurriyat (M) Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, senior leaders G.N Waseem and G.N War visited district jail Kupwara to express solidarity with the imprisoned leader Zafar Akbar Bhat.  Lauding the will, determination and commitment of all incarcerated leaders towards the freedom struggle, the spokesman said that arrests and detentions will not break the will and determination of the Hurriyat to carry forward the freedom struggle towards its logical conclusion

He castigated the arrest of separatist  leadership and raids over their houses “in a bid to curb their social, political and religious activities. He further stated that during the crackdown on pro-freedom leadership, the authorities were harassing their family members which isnot only condemnable but highly undemocratic and against the principles of humanity.”
