Expressing deep concern in context of the recent report of Jammu Kashmir Bar Association on the condition of prisoners in different jails of Jammu, Hurriyat (M) spokesman said that in Jammu district jail the jail manual was not followed, the condition of pro-freedom prisoners was extremely bad, and prisoners were dumped inside the jails beyond the intake capacity. As a result, the spokesman said that, prisoners were facing both physical and psychological problems of varied natures.

The spokesman further said that basic medical facilities were being denied to prisoners, deliberately they were not produced on time before the court on hearing dates, and their relatives were not allowed to meet them.

The spokesman has appealed the ICRC and other international human rights organization to take notice of the Kashmiri prisoners lodged in state and outside state jails who are spending days under inhuman conditions in utter misery.

Meanwhile the spokesman has denounced police action on protesters in Kuwpara and Palhallan Pattan. He said the restriction imposed by the government forces on the movement of people have exposed the so called democratic claims of the government.

Expressing grief and regret over of the death of 21 worshipers in Peshawar Mosque attack, Hurriyat (M) spokesman said the terrorism in all its manifestations and places was condemnable and contrary to the teachings of Islam.

The spokesman said that Pakistan is being continuously targeted by the terrorists following a well thought out plan with its basic aim to increase the sectarian tensions and make the country politically weak, adding, Pakistan has to defeat such elements to get rid of the menace of terrorism. Expressing his sympathy and solidarity with those families who lost their dear ones in the Peshawar attack, the spokesman said that Hurriyat (M) condemns this cowardly act of terrorists.
