Hurriyat Conference (M) Thursday termed the court verdict of case involving Wamiq Farooq as a victory of righteousness and justice.

In a statement, the party while praising the efforts of Advocate Aijaz Ahmad and other members fighting case, said the court verdict has exonerated Wamiq of stone pelting charges and blamed police for his death. It said that the verdict has thus strengthened the Hurriyat’s stand that the police and troops were involved in fabricating stone pelting charges against the innocent youth to arrest them adding, it were they (police) responsible for the targeted killings of Kashmiri youth.

The amalgam said the court verdict have raised hopes that many innocent youth who have been incriminated in false cases would also get the same treatment as was done in the case of Wamiq.

The Hurriyat (M) has offered khiraah-e-tehseen to Wamiq’s father, Farooq Ahmad for showing patience and for following the case.
