SRINAGAR: National Conference president Dr Farooq Abdullah on Thursday said he expects the Supreme Court to deliver justice if allegations of irregularities and malpractice in the West Bengal elections are eventually brought before it.
Speaking to reporters after a meeting of the party’s provincial committee in Srinagar, Abdullah noted that several political leaders across the country have raised concerns over the election outcome.
“Mamata Banerjee is raising questions, Akhilesh Yadav is raising questions, and many others are also expressing concern over the poll results. I hope the matter reaches the Supreme Court and justice is delivered,” he said.
On the opposition INDIA bloc, the former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister asserted that the alliance continues to function smoothly and remains intact. “The INDIA bloc is always operative and it will continue to function,” he said.
He further said the provincial committee deliberated on organisational issues and strategies to strengthen the party at the grassroots level.
