SRINAGAR: The football match between Real Kashmir FC and defending champion Gokulam Kerala FC held at Srinagar’s Synthetic Turf ground today, ended up with at zero scores from both sides.

The match started today at 2:00 pm, earlier after the half of the time was over, no scores were seen, however, till the last movement both the teams played tirelessly and remained constant. The match was finally declared a draw, as there was no score from both the sides.

Shibinraj, goalkeeper of Gokulam Kerala FC was awarded man of the match for his best performance.

Both sides have faced each other a total of six times in the history of the I-League, in which Real Kashmir won two and Gokulam Kerala won only a single game.

The first half began with both teams going for the attack right from the get-go. Gokulam’s Arjun Jayaraj charged into the penalty area with the ball in the sixth minute but was closed down before he could shoot. A couple of minutes later, Real Kashmir had their first shy at goal through Nozim Babadzhanov, whose shot from distance was narrowly off target.

In the 63rd minute, Wadudu Yakubu evaded a trio of Gokulam defenders and danced his way into a dangerous position, before laying the ball off to Samuel Kynshi inside the box. However, the forward’s shot with the outside of his boot was wide of the far post.

Real Kashmir is now at the first spot of the table with 7 points. Pertinent to mention that despite the cold weather, the stadium was swelled by the fans.
