SRINAGAR: The Arunachal Pradesh Government has assigned senior IAS officer Saugat Biswas the additional responsibility of Divisional Commissioner (Central) as part of a wider bureaucratic reshuffle undertaken by the state administration.
Biswas, a 2006-batch IAS officer of the AGMUT cadre who originally belonged to the erstwhile Jammu and Kashmir cadre, is currently serving as Commissioner (Transport). He is also holding the additional charge of Commissioner (Law).
Under the latest administrative orders, he will continue in his present roles while also overseeing the affairs of the Central Division as Divisional Commissioner.
Over the course of his career, Biswas has held several key assignments in Jammu and Kashmir, including Deputy Commissioner of Anantnag, Managing Director of the JK Medical Supplies Corporation, Transport Commissioner, and Secretary, Information Technology Department.
He also served as Divisional Commissioner of Ladakh following the formation of the Union Territory of Ladakh.
