SRINAGAR: The Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS) Supervisors on Tuesday staged a protest over non-payment of salaries for the last ten months.

According to reports, scores of ICDS Supervisors assembled here at press colony, Srinagar and staged a protest demonstration to press for their demands.

ICDS Supervisors said, “We assembled here today to inform the concerned departments about the non-payment of salaries to ICDS Supervisors.”

The supervisors from various districts of the state assembled at press colony holding placards that read Save ICDS, Enough is enough, amid slogans in favour of their demands.

They said that we haven’t received a single penny from 21 months which has inflicted suffering on us. We are regular employees of the department but we are being treated worse than daily wagers.

The protesting supervisors said that they work for the betterment of children; however, their own children are suffering now. (CNS)
