IED Detected, Destroyed in Jammu Kashmir

   

SRINAGAR: An improvised explosive device (IED) was detected and safely destroyed in a controlled explosion by a Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district on Monday evening, officials said.

According to officials, the IED was spotted by an Army search party in Argi village in the Dalhori area during a search operation late Monday evening.

Following the detection, a Bomb Disposal Squad was rushed to the site. The explosive device was subsequently neutralised in a controlled explosion at around 10 pm.

Officials said the operation was carried out safely without causing any damage or casualties.

Further investigation is underway to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the recovery of the IED, officials added.
