If BJP’s Dr Nirmal Singh can be harassed by army, think of common Kashmiris: Er Rasheed

Srinagar

Expressing sympathy with Dr Nirmal Singh, who is speaker of Jammu and Kashmir  Legislative Assembly, for his revelations of being harassed by Army at Nagrota in connection with construction of his house, Independent lawmaker and MLA Langate Er Rasheed has demanded that world should learn if the most powerful man of Sangh Parivar is facing harassment at the hands of army what could be fate of a common man in Jammu and Kashmir.

Er Rasheed said “Whenever Kashmiris have been alleging harassment and brutalities by the army, they are being labelled as anti-nationals and Pakistani agents and very often their voices go unheard. Now when former Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh is claiming harassment at the hands of the army, not only state government but army must come out with the facts without any delay.

“Dr Nirmal Singh needs to be reminded that Kashmiris have been facing huge humiliations at the hands of security forces and there are scores of buildings occupied illegally by Army but nobody is allowed to open the mouth,” Er Rasheed.

Er Rasheed said that even at places people are denied entry to their land in areas like Karnah, Karen, Gurez, and Uri. Dr Nirmal Singh should now wake up and raise his voice against all such violations and must feel the pain of a common Kashmiri.

Er Rasheed said that people need to be told the truth and defense ministry must clean over the issue as credibility and both Nirmal Singh and Army is at stake.
