SRINAGAR: Lashing out at Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti for her remarks that third party intervention in Kashmir will turn J&K into Syria and Afghanistan, Langate MLA Engineer Rasheed said China and America are already playing their role.

“If Americans don’t have a role, why is Prime Minister Modi begging before America to ask Pakistan stop interfering in J&K and why Delhi is celebrating Salahuddin is being declared a terrorist by US,” Rasheed said it told a delegation of people in Srinagar. “Chinese have also occupied some portion of J&K, they are already in partnership with Pakistan to construct CPEC passing through the dispute territory. It is Chinese who have been backing Masood Azhar at international forums. As such down playing role of international powers like America and China means nothing but stabbing Kashmiris.”

“If Mehbooba talks about issue being bilateral and refers to Shimla, Tashkand and other bilateral agreements, may she answer why Delhi doesn’t show an iota of commitment, sincerity and willingness to talk to Pakistan for the resolution of Issue,” Rasheed asked. “Who doesn’t know that all these bilateral agreements have failed? Delhi has been using these so called bilateral agreements only to kill time and mislead the world.”

Rasheed termed it a “disgrace” that Delhi is defaming the resistance leadership with whom it engaged earlier.

Rasheed said the status-quo suits not only Delhi but a few Kashmiri families including that of Mehbooba Mufti and common Kashmir continue to lose their lives, honour and self respect daily. “If Miss Mufti or Omer Abdullah couldn’t get AFSPA revoked even from a district or release a political prisoner like Masrat Alam, Aasia Indrabi, Qasim Faktoo or someone else on their own will, why should they try to be more loyal than the king and more Indians than the Indians themselves,” Rasheed said in a statement. He ridiculed Mehbooba Mufti for connecting stone pelting with attack on policemen by Army at Gund Ganderbal and said that rather showing some shame over the incident she tried to defend the Army.
