SRINAGAR: The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has announced that admissions for the July 2026 academic cycle under its Open and Distance Learning (ODL) and Online programmes will close on July 15, urging prospective learners and existing students seeking re-registration to complete the process before the deadline.
According to the university, admissions are open for undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, postgraduate diploma and certificate programmes offered through both ODL and Online modes. The last date for both fresh admissions and re-registration is July 15, 2026.
IGNOU has also introduced several new academic programmes for the current admission cycle, including Four-Year Undergraduate Programmes (FYUP) in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. Other newly launched programmes include courses in Climate Change, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Criminal Justice Social Work, Geriatric Health and Care, and MBA specialisations in Human Resource Management, Marketing Management, Finance Management and Operational Management, approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
Regional Director, IGNOU Regional Centre Srinagar, Dr A.H. Rizvi, urged prospective learners to complete the admission process well before the deadline and cautioned them against fraudulent calls or messages seeking payments through QR codes, WhatsApp or other social media platforms.
He also advised eligible students to complete their re-registration before July 15 to avoid last-minute inconvenience.
Meanwhile, IGNOU has established a new Study Centre at the Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir (SKUAST-K), which will offer programmes of the School of Agriculture through the Open and Distance Learning mode.
