SRINAGAR: Inspector General of Police, Kashmir Zone, Sujit Kumar on Wednesday chaired a security review meeting at Police Control Room (PCR) Kashmir to assess the prevailing security situation and review preparedness across the Central Kashmir Range.
The meeting was attended by DIG Central Kashmir Range (CKR) Srinagar, SSPs of Srinagar, Budgam and Ganderbal, SSP PCR Kashmir, SO to IGP Kashmir, all SDPOs and other senior police officers.
During the meeting, officers briefed the IGP on the security situation in their respective areas and apprised him of the security grid put in place to maintain peace, public order and a secure environment.
Kumar reviewed the security arrangements and operational preparedness across the Central Kashmir Range, with particular focus on deployment and readiness of personnel.
He directed officers to enhance counter-insurgency operations, intensify area domination and strengthen naka checking at vulnerable locations. He also called for increased checking and surveillance along inter-district borders.
The IGP stressed that security arrangements should remain dynamic and responsive to emerging vulnerabilities, directing officers to regularly assess existing arrangements and strengthen deployments wherever required.
He further asked the officers to maintain heightened vigilance and ensure that all necessary preventive measures are in place to safeguard public peace and security.
The meeting concluded with directions to all concerned officers to maintain round-the-clock vigilance, strengthen preventive security measures and ensure close coordination among field formations to maintain a peaceful and secure environment across the Central Kashmir Range
