SRINAGAR: The Indian Institute of Architects (IIA), Srinagar Centre, celebrated the achievements of women in architecture on International Women’s Day.

Bringing together a diverse audience, including architects, engineers, business leaders, journalists, and radio personalities, the event highlighted the pivotal role women play in shaping the architectural landscape.

As per the statement, the atmosphere buzzed with enthusiasm as engaging panel discussions, insightful keynote speeches, and interactive sessions unfolded.

Women architects took the spotlight, sharing their experiences and insights, fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange.

Ar Irshad Majid, Chairman of IIA Srinagar Centre, expressed pride in celebrating women architects’ accomplishments, emphasizing the event’s mission to inspire and empower more women to pursue careers in architecture and design.

“We are proud to celebrate the accomplishments of women in architecture and to highlight their invaluable contributions to the profession,” said Ar Irshad Majid.

Notably, the IIA Srinagar Centre originally conceived as a Sub-Centre under the Jammu and Kashmir Chapter in April 2022, the IIA Srinagar Centre has now ascended to the esteemed status of the Srinagar Centre, as resolved in the IIA Council meeting on February 9, 2024.

With over 55 active members, the Centre stands as a beacon for fostering creativity and inclusivity in the field of architecture.
