Imposter held in Charar-i-Sharief

Police has arrested an imposter who used to pose as fake government officer in Charar-i-Sharief and its adjoining areas, demanding money from people affiliated with handicrafts profession, a police statement issued CNS said.

“Reports said that an imposter from Tulmula, Baramulla namely Mushtaq Ahmed Shah son of Abdul Gani posing fake government handicrafts officer used to visit the handicraft shops and factories where he used to demand money from the people,” Police said. It added that the said imposter also used to act as fake-faith healer befooling womenfolk after giving them different kinds of amulets.

“We received a complaint from the people and police arrested the imposter during a raid when he was busy in giving amulets to few women in the Charar-i-Sharief area,” DySP Shahid Nayeem said, adding, “a case vide FIR number 4/2014 under section 117, 420 of RPC has been registered against the imposter.”
