Much to the amusement of National Conference supporters, party patron Dr Farooq Abdullah surprised folk dancers when he joined them and danced to their tunes at Rawalpora, Khansahab in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Tuesday.

Abdullah was there to address an election rally. According to CNS, after the culmination of rally, Kashmiri folk dancers started beating drums while Farooq Abdullah came down from the stage and danced to tunes of bande paethar (folk dance).

Clad in Kashmiri pheran, he danced with the members of the troupe for few minutes. Action entertained his supporters and others present there.

Later talking to reporters, Farooq Abdullah said that Government is not going to extend lease of Tosamaidan to Army as it is mulling to provide an alternative firing range for Army somewhere else.

“Tosamaidan would be developed as tourist resort. We are not going to extend the lease to the Army. People of Tosamaidan have suffered a lot and time has come we develop it as a tourist resort,” Abdullah said.
